The Philadelphia Federation of Teachers (PFT) records include a full set of executive board minutes, executive officers' files and district representatives files. Other major sets of records are general subject files, ca. 1960-80, covering all aspects of the educational, political and social life of city, the national educational system, and the central office files for the seventies, which include all internal union memos and correspondence. Separate smaller groups of files, about five cubic feet each, document the organizing campaign of 1962-65, and various subsequent contract negotiations. The union newspaper, which dates back to the mid-fifties, is available on microfilm.
